Eleven months

Mother's Love, Greg Olsen

MothersLovebyGregOlsen

“And the earth shall be given unto them for an inheritance;

and they shall multiply and wax strong,

and their children shall grow up without sin unto salvation.

For the Lord shall be in their midst,

and his glory shall be upon them,

and he will be their king and their lawgiver.”

Doctrine and Covenants 45:58-59

There is a song I recently discovered, thanks to Bro. Wilberg's wonderful arrangement on Consider the Lilies. I love the lightness and beauty of his arrangement, but the song really struck deep down into my heart after I played another setting of it. This one was for violin and piano, by Ron Harris. I wanted so badly to record it with Chris and include it with this post! He simply didn't have the time to do it this week. (So if we happen to get it done in the future, I'll try to remember to add it . . . .)

For now, though, let me just try to express some of the feelings I had when we played this song together.

There will come a morning when I wake up to see my baby close at hand.

A morning when I look out the window to see a renewed, paradisiacal earth.

A beginning.

A beginning to many fresh mornings, as Benjamin grows up without sickness, pain, or sin.

A beginning to days of endless joy.

A time when the Savior Himself will walk among us.

This song makes real to me the morning after the Millennium begins, when earth will appear as the Garden of Eden.

Morning Has Broken

(Eleanor Farjeon)

Morning has broken, like the first morning;

Blackbird has spoken like the first bird.

Praise for the singing! Praise for the morning!

Praise for them springing fresh from the Word!

Sweet the rain's new fall sunlit from heaven,

Like the first dewfall on the first grass.

Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden,

Sprung in completeness where His feet pass.

Mine is the sunlight! Mine is the morning

Born of the one light Eden saw play!

Praise with elation, praise ev'ry morning,

God's re-creation of the new day!

Oh, Michelle. I just saw this (the second) Greg Olsen painting last Saturday for the first time. It was 3'x4' in an LDS bookstore, and I wanted to tell you about it!

The words are beautiful, but I need to read them again and again to paint the picture. I'll bet Benjamin looks forward to that day as well. <3

Happy 11 months since Little Benjamin came into our lives. None of us will ever be the same. I LOVE your sentiments and look forward to hearing your duet with Chris.

I can't tell you all how comforting it is knowing we have such good people in our lives. Thank you all, including Michelle! I don't know what I would do without her!

Michelle, thanks so much for the comments you've left on our blog... I have appreciated them so much. Thanks for sharing the words of this song - they're beautiful! And, I really love "Consider the Lillies" and also look forward to hearing your duet. Please know you'll be in my prayers throughout this entire month... I can only imagine at this point what it must be like. May God hold you in His arms and fill you with His love.

Oh, I can't wait to hear your duet with Chris. Of course, I would much prefer to hear it in person, but I'll take what I can get!

These pictures are so beautiful. Especially the last one with Jesus holding the hand of the little boy. It really helps to put things into perspective.

I found your blog from a comment left on MckMama's blog. I am so sorry about your sweet baby boy. My daughter was born November 2nd of last year and my due date was the 7th. I treasure every day I have with her due to stories like yours. Thank you for sharing.
