Beginning to heal

Today was my first day back at church in our home ward. I was really afraid to come back, but it was wonderful. Our ward family was so tender and loving. I thought Primary would be especially hard, but it was actually very comforting. Children are so wonderful--they are not afraid to say how they feel. One said, "I cried when I found out that your baby died." It made me feel so much better. And so many hugs! Long, firm hugs! My sisters in the gospel truly feel like my sisters. It has never been so real to me before how literally we can be encircled by love through our brothers and sisters in the kingdom of God!

I can see now that even though it was very hard to face returning to my calling, that it is exactly what I need right now. To serve others and be served brings me closer to the Savior, and that brings sweet, blessed comfort! I have been praying and studying the scriptures desperately, but through fasting today and returning to service in the kingdom I am finally beginning to feel a little bit better.

I love the words of the hymn "Come, Ye Disconsolate".
Come, ye disconsolate where-e'er ye languish.
Come to the mercy seat. Fervently kneel.
Here bring your wounded hearts.
Here tell your anguish.
Earth has no sorrow that heav'n cannot heal.

Here see the bread of life. See waters flowing
Forth from the throne of God pure from above.
Come to the feast of love.
Come, ever knowing
Earth has no sorrow but heav'n can remove.

I am so glad that you have a good ward. The gospel is truly amazing! You are a good example to all of us by doing what you know you should and putting your trust in the Lord no matter what. Thank you!
