Articles of Faith and Ice Cream

About a year ago I designed this on Photoshop to help our boys keep track of their progress in memorizing the Articles of Faith. They loved getting to earn "super-duper ice cream sundaes", and Fluffy and Exacto earned them really fast! :)

 

 

Unfortunately, Ruby ate Hummer's chart, and when I went back to print out another one (months later -- ouch), the file had gotten damaged somehow. Arg! So anyway, I got it straightened out, and thought while I was at it, maybe some of ya'll would like access to it, too.

Let me know if you use it, and if you have any suggestions!

Note: It is two separate pages. I recommend printing it out on cardstock (may be more dog-proof that way!).

Alma and Light

I read these recently during a difficult week, and was so struck and uplifted by these words from the prophet Alma. Hope you enjoy. . . .

". . . .he looketh down upon all the children of men; and he knows all the thoughts and intents of the heart; for by his hand were they all created from the beginning." (alma 18:32)

 

"And he began to cry unto the Lord, saying: O Lord, have mercy; according to thy abundant mercy which thou hast had upon the people of Nephi, have upon me, and my people." (alma 18:41)

 

"for he knew that king Lamoni was under the power of God; he knew that the dark veil of unbelief was being cast away from his mind,

and the light which did light up his mind,

. . . .the light of the glory of God

. . . .a marvelous light of his goodness—

yea, this light had infused such joy into his soul,

the cloud of darkness having been dispelled,

and that the light of everlasting life was lit up in his soul,

Search the Scriptures Diligently - VTing handout

I absolutely loved the quote by President Ezra Taft Benson in this month's Visiting Teaching message. I wanted to be able to see it often and help prod me into a better scripture study habit. So I decided to type it.

Then I decided to make it pretty.

An hour later, I realized that if I was going to actually STUDY the SCRIPTURES before the boys got home from school, I'd better stop fooling around on the computer and DO IT! :)

Two hours later--now the boys are home and I DID study the scriptures and that feels so good.

I thought it might be nice to share my work. I'm not a real expert on prettifying (I usually leave that up to my talented friends!), but I hope someone out there likes this! Feel free to print it out if you'd like. :)
